Who We Are
Excel began in a single car garage in Toongabbie, NSW in 1989. From these humble beginnings came Excel Hydraulics Pty, now operating out of three 200 m2 industrial units in Smithfield NSW and housing a dynamic team of fourteen people.
As well as being in the humble business of providing a valuable service, we also supply modern, innovative fluid power and maintenance solutions. We are focused on you, the customer, and how we can provide you with a complete solution.

Kevin McCaffrey
Proprietor
Kevin is the owner of this flourishing business. Life in engineering started as an Apprentice Toolmaker in his hometown of New Plymouth, New Zealand. In 1985 he relocated to Newcastle, where an opportunity to start a new and exciting career in hydraulics appeared. His interests include his family, WRX's, Rugby Union and of course hydraulics. He is married with three fantastic daughters. |

Wayne Brewis
External Sales Leader Wayne is a highly skilled fitter who has successfully turned his hand to his new management role like a duck to water. On a daily basis, he goes out of his way to ensure all our valued customers are kept up to date and satisfied. He is married with two children and looks forward to long beach walks in his hometown, Coffs Harbour. |

Matt Hughes
Field Service Matt doesn’t say much but when he does it’s certainly worth hearing. As an important part of the team, Matt spreads his time between onsite service work, workshop and machining - all in between studying at Uni for an engineering degree. When not involved with studies or work, Matt is either falling off his motocross bike or enjoying time with his partner, Claire. |  |
Clara Bagala
Financial Support
Clara has an enviable reputation for making all the numbers balance. Within her essential role she ensures all the right amounts are transferred between bank accounts, payments are made when due and all the team are reimbursed for their efforts. Married with two fast growing children, Clara enjoys spending valuable spare time on the family boat |

Joe Sabljak
Fluid Clean Joe is our Fluid Clean guru managing to trim and tune the purification rig like no body else. Even before he started working with us, Joe nearly knew more about what our oil cleaning equipment could do than we did. When he is not running the rig around the country, he is performing all important proactive maintenance and equipment repairs. At home Joe enjoys researching and passing all his new found knowledge onto his son, Jake. . |

Frank Barbara
Workshop Frank has gained a wealth of experience from his diverse engineering past. His primary role is to overcome the many hydraulics challenges the workshop encounters on a daily basis. He loves to watch the V8 supercars do their stuff when not spending time with his family and partner |

Mario Montoya Service Leader Mario comes to Excel with an abundance of Fluidpower experience from a diverse range of companies that he was previously involved. Here at Excel Mario coordinates all the workshop and field service jobs with the team commitments, plans and organizes our projects and gets down and dirty when the needs arise. Mario enjoys his time out camping and fishing with his wife Dianne and two fine sons, Josh and Jacob. |

Kevin Meurant Business Support Leader Kevin has joined our team after many years of management in the light earthmoving repair industry. With a focus on retail sales and customer relationships, his role is to promote the growing range of products and services that Excel are now involved with. He has a passion for cricket and rugby union, and when not involved with these sporting interests, he spends his spare time as a taxi driver for his four children. |

Stephen Hotop
Financial Leader Stephen has over 30 years as an accountant and has had the privilege of being associated with some great national and international icons: Nedlloyd, the Swire Group, Speedo, Inghams, and Holden, to name a few . Stephen's experience and knowledge is highly valued, and his assistance in ensuring that our systems and standards continue to improve is vital to our sustained growth. When at home Stephen enjoys spending time with his family, going to the movies, watching rugby league and pretending to be a rugby star on the touch footy field. |

Laura Carollo
Internal Product Sales Leader From being the first employed office staff member at Excel, Laura puts her experience to good use on a daily basis. Apart from assisting the Managing Director, she maintains Excel's sytems and provides back up to the administrative staff. Married to a clever upholsterer, she still finds quality time to bring up three delightful children. |
